Pete played a key role in the Warriors back–to–back national championships in 1997 and 1998. While wearing the Indian Hills uniform he was named all–region as a freshman and sophomore and named National Player of the Year and National Tournament MVP as a sophomore. He left IHCC as the second-leading scorer all-time with 1392 points and the career leader in free throws and free throw attempts. He is still second in field goals and third in scoring average, pouring in 18.1 points a game in two years. Following his career at Indian Hills, Pete competed at the University of Cincinnati and was named first–team all–league during both his junior and senior years and was an honorable mention All–American his senior season. He was drafted in 2000 by the NBA's Dallas Mavericks, and played with Kansas City and Tampa in the ABA. Pete has played internationally with teams in the Philippines, Greece, Russia, South Korea, and Spain. He was the first Warriors basketball player to have his jersey retired.
